Chokladbollar

Today we have finished a TV show we were watching lately. I always feel sad when finishing an interesting one since I tend to get attached to the characters.  For me there are just few things better than being at home and watching a thrilling TV show. I watch everything from comedy over drama over crime over fantasy. You might want to call me an addict. I allow it. One time my sister recommended me a really cool one called the Bridge. It deals about the bridge between Malmö and Copenhagen and it is honestly extremely good. I don’t know how my sister started watching it, but I was happy she told me about it. Maybe it is because she moved to Sweden about six and a half years ago for her studies. Sweden is an amazing country with a beautiful nature, a lot of delicious and healthy food and a super good infrastructure and health system! Ever since it has been a destination for some of our summer (or winter) holidays. One thing which I really LOVED during my stays there are chokladbollar. They are small chocolate balls which are super rich in taste. I had never thought about making them myself until my sister made them once and they tasted great. Since I love eating chocolate and sweets, I tried to copy the original recipe and transfer them into a slightly healthier version.

For nine chokladbollar:

  • 1 cup oats
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cacao powder
  • 2 tbsp coffee
  • 2 tbsp agave syrup
  • 1/2 cup grated coconut
  • 3 tbsp coconut oil

Mix oats, coffee, cacao powder, agavesyrup, coconut oil and half of the grated coconut in a blender until you get a smooth paste. Then form little balls out of the paste and roll them in the rest of the grated coconut. They are veeeery chocolatey and the best treat for an exhausting day.

** note: I brought some to work today to share them with my workmates, but “somehow” they all ended up in my stomach.. seriously.. I don’t know what happened..
